Battle of Britain Combat Archive - Appendix II - Luftwaffe Fighter Units

With the Battle of Britain Combat Archive Series reaching its conclusion with Volume 20, it seemed reasonable that such a series should have some form of Appendices.  The more we thought about it, the clearer the idea took shape.  Each Appendix will feature a mainly statistical record of various elements of the Battle supported by insightful text, original documents and the latest research, as in the main series.  This second Appendix features Luftwaffe Fighter Units in the Battle of Britain in a page by page easy reference guide.  Each Gruppe page features the airfields operated from, the top 10 scoring pilots, total claims and total losses.  There are also a couple of bar charts covering the claims and losses on each day of the Battle, for that Gruppe.  It’s a unique guide and nicely complements the main series of books.

The statistical information has been gathered from a number of sources with the main core being supplied by Battle of Britain analyst Peter Cook.  Peter has spent over 20 years developing a stunning Battle of Britain database which is second to none in documenting the details of the Battle.
